HISPANIC AND DIVERSITY NEWS

A series of new studies
show that Hispanics are by far the most underrepresented
minority in both public and private organizations.
- A new survey conducted
by SHRM found that only 0.4% of America's senior
executives in the largest 1,500 firms are Hispanic.
97% are white and male.
- According to the HACR,
only 4.8 % of Hispanic professionals hold managerial
positions, compared to 5.5 % of Asians, and
9.1 % of African Americans.
- Hispanic inclusion in
the financial
sector has been "embarrassingly slow".
- 88 percent of the Fortune
1000 corporations do not have any Hispanics
on their boards
- According to the US
Office of Personnel Management, minorities are better
represented in the federal workforce than in the
private sector with one exception Latinos,
who represent only 6.6 percent of the federal workforce,
compared with 11.8 percent in the civilian labor
force.
