Fidelity Life Association (FLA), established in 1896, is a legal reserve life insurance company headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois. The company has experienced substantial growth from new marketing and business strategies. This position will help the company expand internal capabilities as it continues to grow.



Summary:


The Corporate Services Analyst position is responsible for a range of functions to support the business areas of Fidelity Life Association. This will include configuration, testing and training of the wide variety of business systems and tools being used by Fidelity Life Association and its key business partners and distributors. This position is also responsible for designing and building the reporting tools required by the Fidelity Life Association business areas. In addition, this position will work with the business areas to design, implement and test a wide range of business process effectiveness and efficiency controls.



This Corporate Services Analyst provides hands-on, ground level experience with all facets of the life insurance business, including distribution, administration, underwriting and technology. It is an ideal position for someone seeking to gain both a broad and deep level of understanding of how insurance is sold, delivered and serviced.



Key Responsibilities & Duties:



  • Configuration and testing of systems used by independent agents to complete applications, including design and implementation of screen layouts, implementation of underwriting question sets and association rules, implementation of business rules using external data (e.g. driving records) and implementation of printed applications that must conform to state filed.

  • Configuration and testing of systems used by Fidelity Life Association underwriting staff in conjunction with automated underwriting systems, to underwrite insurance application at the point of sale.

  • Configuration and testing of systems used by Fidelity Life Association Contracting and Licensing staff to manage our distributor database.

  • Configuration and testing of systems used by Fidelity Life Association New Business and Underwriting staff to process all new applications, including implementation of new products, implementation of interfaces, implementation of business workflow rules, implementation of mapping and integration between various New Business, Underwriting, policy production, reporting and administration systems.

  • Create and maintain system documentation and training materials.

  • Design and implementation of reporting solutions for a wide variety of business users.

  • Work in conjunction with business areas to design, evaluate, document and test controls designed to ensure accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency of all business processes.

  • Additional tasks and duties as required by management and business needs.




Requirements

Required Skills:


· Very close attention to detail; accuracy and reliability are a must.


· Excellent command of written English language.


· Very high level of proficiency with leading edge technologies, including Windows and web browser based applications.


· High degree of expertise with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Access.


· Eagerness to gain new knowledge and learn new skills in order to best expand and enhance the role.



  • Must be able to work to strict deadlines; be able to manage time effectively.

  • Ability to work as a critical member of a small team.

  • Must possess good communication skills to work with a wide variety of business professionals.



Education & Experience:



  • Software Engineering or Business Administration degree (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of business experience in corporate environment.

  • Experience in the life insurance or financial industry is desirable, as is experience in the computer software industry.
